Admission time...

I guess that I have to admit that I need to go on a yarn and fiber diet for a little while. My SP10 hostess gave us a challenge to "flash our stash" so here you go!

"Regular" Yarn:

Sock Yarn:

Handspun Yarn (all by me, except the dark green one at the bottom):

And finally the fiber - I think that this shocked me the most:

There is a new 11 oz bag of llama in there that I picked up at the Sheepshearing Festival at Gore Place in Waltham (http://www.goreplace.org/sheepshearing.htm). It ended up being a beautiful day! I can't wait to go to another one, but I have to make decisions about how much to buy when I'm there... in the meantime, I'm off to finish some WIPs - the "big pink bag" that you haven't seen yet, but you will see the before and after pics - felted of course! And I have to finish my Marblehead Handdyed socks ASAP (OK, and my 2nd Llama Seta Karen's Sugar-Free Diabetic Walk Socks too) and then I'm all over the AWESOME Vesper Aquamelon sock yarn that I received today from Jackie - amazing!!! Thanks so much! I think that's a bit of inspiration.

We'll see how we do on a yarn diet for a little while. Does sock yarn really not count?

Beautiful Saturday

What a change in the weather! It is so great to have the windows open again. My friend SM's birthday was the other day and here are 2 mini-skeins that I made for her - one is Lisa Sousa's Spring Green (leftover from JC's birthday yarn) and some Spunky Eclectic Tahiti... that was really fun to spin! She is an artist who has been doing some cool fiber stuff and I hope that she likes them.

And here is a picture of my reblooming orchid - this was the first one I ever bought and have been able to get it to rebloom several times.

Just a quickie this AM

Oh man, when you are really concentrating and trying to be an active listener on the phone at the same time you are jogging a messy pile of papers and the fire alarm goes off and the "blast doors" go down, what happens? You scream really loud. OOPS! I really didn't mean to - honestly, my ears still hurt (as do the person's on the other end of the phone)... but I digress...

I got home last night to receive this great package from my SP10 Spoiler:

Handspun, Trekking, yummy soap and sugar free chocolate, a great little MK nail kit, and some stitch markers made by my pal... terrific! I am pretty excited to give the Trekking a try - with all of the sock yarn I have I don't have any of that yet! The coffee was tasty this morning too!
Well, the sun has finally rejoined us and the little goldfinch is in my kitchen. Time to get back to work... no more screaming today!
HAPPY FRIDAY!

Green Curry Warning

It was going to be totally yummy, it looked great, smelled terrific but then the heat hit. Now I like hot food, but this was over the edge. The hubby actually said that it hurt his mouth - I have to agree with him.

I used a whole can of this:

And chicken, peppers, onion, broccoli, green chick peas (frozen from Trader Joes - I think this may be one of my new favorite legumes!) and a can of light coconut milk.

Next time I think I'll start w/ 2 tablespoons... not the whole 4 oz.!
I hate having to toss yummy food. Oh well.

In other food news, since the recall (and my friend losing both of her cats to it - very, very sad!), we decided to use only this food - http://www.petpromiseinc.com/ and start up a raw food diet. I'm trying to concentrate on the raw food, but with 4 cats it goes pretty fast and I haven't been able to quite get a stash of it in the freezer yet. I also ordered TC Instincts from www.felinefuture.com - you add it to ground raw chicken (I use thighs) and chicken livers. They are LOVING it! I'm just glad that Mom gave me a meat grinder attachment for my Kitchenaid a few years ago. I never even took it out of the box until a few weeks ago. It works like a charm.

I'll be posting my WIPs and Stash later this week (most likely over the weekend) - the contest is only for the Stash, but I'm thinking to add the WIPs as some personal inspiration.

Happy hump day!
Amy

Easter is over...

Now I can get back to WW for real... can't I?

I did get a little spinning done this weekend... and I love it! Spunky Eclectic "Walkabout" was the January fiber club colorway... I had fun with this. Used a smaller whorl for the first time and I'm much happier with the twist in the plying...
Another ~140 yards of fun... practice, practice, practice!
